The Cashmere High School football team opens up the 2025 season when they host the Wapato Wolves on Friday, September 5th. The Bulldogs are coming off a 10-2 2024 campaign and a state semifinal appearance. Last year, the Bulldogs were led by star wideout Logan Spies, who shattered multiple single-season school records, including most receptions (69), most receiving yards (964), and touchdown receptions (19). He also has the record for receptions in a career with 124.
Entering his senior season, Spies is more focused on team success than individual records. We asked Logan what his goals were for the upcoming season, and he said,
“My goal for this season is the same as it has been in the past. To win the state championship at Husky Stadium. To have my name in the record books is an honor, but that isn’t what matters. What matters is doing whatever I can to help my team win. Whether that means putting in extra time outside of practice, encouraging my teammates to be the best version of themselves, or stepping up to make a big play when it matters the most. To me, winning a championship takes more than talent. It takes leadership and hard work from everyone on and off the field.”.
Spies’ unselfish mindset is one of the reasons the players voted him a captain for the second straight season.
Head Coach Bryan Bremer had some positive words on his star receiver.
“Obviously, Logan is an incredible football student-athlete, but more importantly, he is an outstanding servant leader. Logan consistently places others’ needs above his own, which is a primary reason why Cashmere Football’s culture is family-oriented. Logan has bought into our culture since day one, and it has paid dividends for him athletically. I believe that Logan is not only the most polished WR in the SCAC, but should be regarded as a top weapon in the state regardless of classification. Logan will leave a lasting impact and elevated our program to what it is today.”
With Spies as the key weapon in the passing game, the Bulldogs should be right back into championship contention. If his senior season is anything like last year, he won’t just be chasing more records; he’ll be chasing a state title.
