It’s a Sunday, Sept. 7, the last day of the Chelan County Fair in Cashmere, Washington, and the kids are winding up their day of rides and playing carnival games.
Some people are wondering if the rides and prices are worth it, if the smoke affects people’s ability to show up, and if the rides are safe. Dibson Hollads, a young kid, said, “My favorite ride at the fair is probably Fireball”, and this was also the ride he was most excited for; he also thinks that the price of the fair is worth it. Fireball is a circular roller coaster that turns people who ride it upside down in a circular motion. The fair offers a mix of rides, including rides for children, teenagers, and adults who reach a certain height. The cost of unlimited rides is 40$ Thursday through Saturday, but on Sunday the cost is 20$.
When a games manager was asked if the smoke affected the number of people showing up, he said, “No, not at all.” When he was asked if safety is important on the rides, he said, “Safety is our number one priority.” He also said, “In the morning, we do a multi-point inspection.” The games manager also said there was one new ride this year, but it was packed up on Saturday. The Chelan County Fair takes place in early September; dates for the 2026 fair and the return of the rides have not been announced yet.
