The Bulldogs began their cross-country season strong at the Manson Invitational this Saturday. The boys took second place out of nine teams with a score of 77, and the girls took first out of five teams with a score of 44. (For context, lower scores are better in cross country.)
The boys’ and girls’ races were held at the park at Wapato Point in Manson. The course was two laps and covered a little over 3 miles. It featured gradual uphills, sharp downhills, a mix of different terrains, and scenic views of Lake Chelan
Notable performances on the team include Allie Neff (girls, 4th place, 21:55), Annika Peterson (girls, 9th place, 23:28), and Rylan Reiber (boys, 4th place, 18:16).
The Cross Country team will try to continue its momentum this Tuesday at the Okanogan Invitational. The boys’ JV race starts at 5:00, followed by the girls’ and Varsity boys’ races.
