It’s not often a Division 1 football talent emerges out of a small town like Cashmere, Washington, but 6’3”, 260lb edge rusher is proving he’s anything but ordinary.
A four-year starter, team captain, and standout senior at Cashmere High School, Fox has been turning coaches’ heads across the nation. In June, he made his commitment to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), choosing the Rebels over 14 other Division 1 programs. Prin’s offer list included schools such as Arizona, Boston College, Wake Forest, Boise State, and more.
Fox took three official visits before committing. His journey began on May 29th, when Prin took his first official visit to Boise State. Almost a week later, Prin took his second official visit to Boston College. Ten days after that, he visited UNLV, and within 24 hours, he had announced his commitment to the Rebels.
Currently ranked as the 9th overall recruit in Washington and the 71st-ranked edge rusher in the country according to 247Sports, Fox is expected to make an immediate impact at the college level.
When asked why he chose UNLV and how he thinks his decision might affect the upcoming 2025 season, Fox shared:
“Coach Mullen is building a winning program”, Fox continued. “I got to spend a lot of time with the coaching staff during my visit. They showed me they’re going to take good care of me and help me succeed at the next level”. Fox went on,
“I wanna shout out Coach Bremer. He’s an amazing coach and really helped me through this journey. Also, shout out to my teammates Logan Spies, Rylan Hatmaker, the offensive line, and the defensive line for just pushing each other every day to get better.”
Fox then discussed the team’s goals for the season. “We just have one goal in mind, make it to Husky Stadium and win one game once we get there”.
Fox then talked about how his commitment can help his teammates. “Teams will throw double and triple teams at me. That will help the rest of the defensive line and give them opportunities to make plays”.
Prin explained how helpful Head Coach Bryan Bremer was in his decision to commit to UNLV. We asked Coach Bremer what it’s like coaching Prin.
“Prin is the type of student-athlete that you dream about coaching. He is fully committed to his craft year-round. Whether it’s in the weight room, football field, or classroom, he gives the same effort and attention to detail. Prin has been a staple in our program in the last four years, and he is a major reason why the Bulldogs have won 32 of our last 38 games”. Bremer continued.
“Many student-athletes with Prin’s pedigree get lost in the attention, but Prin has maintained an even-keeled approach and blue-collar work ethic.”
Prin also discussed how his teammates were helpful throughout his recruiting journey. Fellow Senior Logan Spies shared what it’s like being in a locker room with Prin.
“He works hard and has a ton of football knowledge. Not only is he a good football player, but he is also a good leader and leads by example. He constantly pushes others to be the best version of themselves. It’s no mistake that he has been voted captain 2 years in a row.”
A Force in the Weight Room
Fox isn’t just dominant on the football field; he’s also a school-record powerlifter. He holds Cashmere school records in both the back squat (550) and the deadlift (513), showcasing raw strength that makes him such a dangerous edge rusher.
A Journey Like No Other
Prin’s Road to Division 1 football is as inspiring as it is unlikely. Prin was born in Kinshasa, the capital city of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Central Africa. He was legally adopted in 2012. Due to delays in exit paperwork, he wasn’t able to leave the country until nearly three years later. At just 8 years of age, Prin finally arrived in Cashmere, where he began a new life, learning a new language and adjusting to a new culture.
Since arriving in Cashmere, he has made an incredible mark on the Cashmere community, on and off the field.
What’s Next
This Friday, September 19th, the Cashmere Bulldogs take on the College Place Hawks. Keep an eye out for #77, as Fox looks to continue his reign of dominance.
With a powerful story, elite talent, and relentless work ethic, Prin Fox is a name you’ll want to remember.
