President Quinn Pace is leading the class of ‘26 through the school year with her previous experience as vice president for the class of ‘26 last year.
Her favorite hobbies include playing soccer and skiing in the winter. Her biggest accomplishment was the mural she painted outside of Weeds this past summer. She says it was a lot of fun to make, and she is really proud of her work.
Pace has done a lot to help her class over the past years, and that’s just what she hopes for this year.
Pace explains how she helps prepare for the upcoming year. “I plan the meetings between the officers and then all the events that we do. I run the Instagram page; whenever we have our senior sunrise or our senior parade, I put it on the Instagram page so they will see it.”
Pace was vice president her junior year, and eager to be president her senior year, saying, “I know I can help make it a good year.”
Vice President, Peighton Sadler, is involved in the class leadership with a fresh eye on how the upcoming year is going to turn out.
Sadler likes to play tennis; this coming season will be her fourth year playing. She enjoys tennis because it is fun and she gets to hang out with friends. When asked what her biggest accomplishment was, she said this. “I would say getting into Cashmere royalty was my biggest accomplishment, ‘cause it’s been a really good experience.”
When asked why she decided to run for vice president, Sadler responded, “I thought it would be fun to help plan things for my senior year just so that I could help my class have the best senior year I could.”
The weight of expectation from being in a leadership position is real, Sadler explains, “I think I have to be a good influence on people because I’m in a leadership role, but I feel like I would do that anyway; I would put pressure on myself.”
Sadler is excited to continue the year after helping with senior sunrise and car painting at the beginning of the year.
Secretary Jada Wood is ready for the new year with the role of taking notes at officer meetings and participating in any activities the seniors will be put on.
In her free time, Wood enjoys spending time with friends, reading, and engaging in quality conversations with people. When asked what she is most proud of, Wood says, “This last year I applied for the Cashmere Royalty program, which is like a scholarship program. I went into it thinking I wasn’t going to get it, but it was a cool experience to try out for it. Here I am, I’ve got to be the queen of Cashmere. That’s one of the things I’m most proud of.”
Wood likes to be a part of decision-making and what her class and the school are doing, explaining why she decided to run for secretary. “It’s an easy way to get involved in the school, and make friends, and to actually get to make decisions about what your class and what your school is doing.”
Wood knows what it’s like to be in a leadership position, and she shares what she’s learned from past experiences. “I think when you represent that role within the school, you have to be kinda an upstanding citizen, you have to be a good role model for other students in your grade, like to be involved and show up and represent them well.
It’s a self-imposed responsibility to be your best self all the time when you are representing Cashmere.”
Wood hopes for the best out of this school year, knowing her senior year will be one to remember.
Treasurer Wyatt Nelson was appointed to this leadership position after no one stepped up to take on the responsibility.
In his spare time, Nelson likes to play club volleyball through NCW, volleyball taking up most of his time in the winter months. When asked about his proudest accomplishment, he says, “I applied for the National Merit Scholarship. I am very proud of it, even though I haven’t heard back, because it is such a huge achievement for me.”
The US National Merit Scholarship is a prestigious U.S. academic competition and scholarship program for high school students. Nelson applied by taking a test, and if he scores high enough, he will compete for this scholarship with other academic students from all over the world.
Nelson says he likes participating in events that the class of ‘26 will be putting on, or have put on in the past. He is excited to start helping with these activities.
Nelson is hoping for a great senior year to end off his high school years, looking forward to the senior trip he will help plan with fellow class officers. He hopes for lots of school spirit in the school and can’t wait to see what the coming year will bring.
