On November 1, 2025, Fortnite brought Spring Field to life with a Simpsons Mini-Season. This season, Fortnite has had a significant surge of players, with the largest spike in new players since last holiday season. This season has been called one of the funnest seasons so far, but I had to put that to the test.
Fortnite has been a viral game for the past few years, having many players, but has recently been on a downward trend, with under a million players active on Battle Royale a few days ago. Yet I decided to put this new season to the test to see if it was fun or not.
After asking students about their favorite part of the game, I got a lot of different answers. Senior Rylan Hatmaker says his favorite part of playing Fortnite is, “Sniping everyone, I love snipers.” Following up, Deangelo Gutierrez said his favorite part was the “Skins,” and said that buying skins was a hobby.
Some new things in this season were the new battlepass, Bart’s Slingshot, Moe’s 5 Gun, and the Deodorant Applicator. These make the game incredibly fun and give players new weapons to work with and to use, and new skins to rock!
I called up four of my friends to battle this game with me: Rylan Hatmaker, Ethan Bessonette, Cole McKenna, and Jack Baker, and got a response from each one saying they’re down to play. We all loaded up and were determined to win every match.
My biggest disappointment was how there are falling donuts all over the map, and these giant donuts take away all of your health if you get hit. Also, since it’s a smaller map, you find teams instantly and have to fight rather than collecting loot. These obstacles are sort of annoying, but I see the way it can make the game more challenging.
On the other hand, the feeling of achieving a Victory Royale brings an incomparable joy to my heart, especially when the whole squad attacks a team and absolutely obliterates them. It’s safe to say that playing with friends makes the game 20x better.
After playing an unbelievable amount of games, with tons of wins and very few losses with my squad, this new season has its pros and cons, but way more pros. This is definitely one of the best seasons I’ve played in my time.
