The Cashmere Bulldogs football team has clinched their fourth consecutive quarterfinal game. The No. 2-ranked Bulldogs will battle the underrated Life Christian Academy Eagles.
The Bulldogs have had a phenomenal season thus far. They earned themselves a bye in the first round of the state tournament. The Eagles were the No. 10 seed in the Class 1A state tournament, and they took down the Nooksack Valley Pioneers in the first round by a score of 35-7, setting up a highly touted quarterfinal matchup.
Senior QB Jabez Boyd leads the Eagles. Boyd is the definition of a dual-threat quarterback. He is a three-star recruit according to 247 Sports, and he is ranked as the 46th player in Washington. He will look to shock the Bulldogs. Protecting Boyd is their right tackle, Ofa Taufalele. Taufalele received an offer from the University of Washington back in May of 2024, in the middle of his eighth-grade school year. He will look to keep the Bulldogs’ strong and fast defensive front from getting to Boyd throughout the game.
Speaking of the Bulldogs’ defensive front, UNLV commit Prin Fox will look to make a huge impact in this game by keeping Boyd in the pocket. Grey Jacobson is another big name for the Bulldogs on the defensive front. He was named SCAC defensive MVP for the 2025-26 season.
Offensively, for the Bulldogs, senior QB Rylan Hatmaker will look to continue his stellar play. Hatmaker is one of 15 quarterbacks in Washington State history to throw 100 touchdown passes in a career. Hatmaker will look to keep climbing that ladder and throw more and more this Saturday.
For both teams, this is a win-or-go-home situation. The Bulldogs will look to clinch their second straight state semifinal. For Life Christian, they will look to flex their star power and shock the Bulldogs.
Kickoff is Saturday at 2 pm at the Wenatchee Apple Bowl.
