Junior Addison Talley is a 3-year varsity basketball player and a Cashmere High School multi-sport athlete. Talley is a highly driven and disciplined player. She’s so focused that she trains for basketball even when she’s in the middle of other seasons. During soccer, she still finds time to practice basketball by going to the gym late at night and early in the morning. During her sophomore year, she got first team for all SCAC and an honorable mention her freshman year for basketball.
Cashmere is small, but it’s full of some of the finest athletes. Talley is one of the most talented athletes at CHS. Talley says, “I balance sports by staying in the weight room and becoming a better athlete. In the fall, I would practice basketball after soccer.” Talley’s drive and motivation comes from her dad and older sister, Bri. Talley is extremely dedicated to basketball, and that stands out to a lot of her teammates and coaches. Head basketball coach Mr. Eygabroad says, “Addie’s work ethic is very inspiring. She puts in consistent work, both in the weight room and in the gym. She is very motivated to improve her game, and the time she puts in reflects how passionate she is about the game of basketball.”
Talley was asked what motivates her most, and her response was, “Knowing that I graduate next year and am releasing, I’ve always wanted to play at this moment [at this level].” Talley’s main goal is to play basketball after high school somewhere in the state of Idaho, and this is a real possibility, especially with her discipline.
Talley’s older sister is one of her biggest supporters. Addie wants to follow in her footsteps. Talley’s biggest accomplishment is starting freshman year with her sister and making state with her. Coach Eygabroad says, “Her dedication to the game and team stands out by her performance on the court. She consistently leads the team in rebounding and points.”
According to maxcorps.com, Talley has led the team with 12.7 PPG, 13.6 RPG, and 28 steals. Some recent statistics she has achieved are 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 steals against Chelan, 15 points and 16 rebounds against Cascade, and 18 points, 15 rebounds, and 5 steals against Wahluke. She is known for her physical toughness and for creating opportunities through deflections.
Come out and support Addison at Ron Doane Gymnasium at 5:45 against the Connell Eagles on Friday, January 16th.
