On October 16th, the engineering design class at Cashmere High School took a trip to the Rocky Reach Dam with Mr. Stewart. The class saw a behind-the-scenes view of how the dam works. Students got to explore the dam and returned after third block.
Sophomore Jackson Binger says, “We went to look at structures and learn how dams were built.” Around 16 students went and found this field trip fun and beneficial.
Rocky Reach is located on the way to Chelan, Washington, and is roughly a 15-minute drive. Engineering design students gathered information to learn and draw the structure of the dam. Students will use these drawings for class projects.
