With the play A Midsummer Night’s Dream finally under wraps, it’s time to switch gears and get ready for the musical. The musical is Once Upon A Mattress, a comedic adaptation of the classic fairy tale, “The Princess and the Pea.”
There are group dance auditions and individual auditions, both of which are mandatory to attend for those trying out. Dance auditions are on Monday, the 3rd. Individual auditions are on Wednesday the 5th, and Thursday the 6th. For individual auditions, you need to submit an audition form to sing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”, and perform a 30-second to 2-minute monologue. The sign-up sheet for individuals is next to the counseling office. If, for whatever reason, Mrs Gubsch or Mr Ream need to meet with you again before casting, there are callback sessions on Friday the 7th. Final casting will be published on Sunday the 9th
After casting is over, rehearsals will begin on Monday the 10th, with necessary attendance for the cast on the 10th and 12th from 3:15 to 5:15 in the Choir room. Rehearsals will continue for the next 3 months, and the first of 5 showings will be on January 30th. If you want any more information, go to Mr Dundas or Mr Ream.
