A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle is a book that you’ll remember for the rest of your life.
The story centers around an anxious main character named Meg, her brilliant younger brother Charles Wallace, Calvin (Meg’s friend), and three old women named Mrs. Who, Mrs. Which, and Mrs. Whatsit. In the story, while Meg is talking to Calvin about her dad missing, Charles Wallace comes running to Meg excitedly. With Charles, there is Mrs. Which, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Whatsit. Charles is explaining to Meg that there is a way to find her father when suddenly everybody disappears from Meg’s sight, and she feels herself pulled into a void of nothingness. Meg is then on a whole different beautiful planet, and around her she can see Charles, Calvin, and the old ladies. The author takes us on an exciting adventure through space and time to find Meg and Charles’s father.
I really enjoyed this book because of the exciting moments and adventures Meg experiences. Every moment throughout the book was unexpected and entertaining. On top of the journey, the characters are intriguing, strong, and well-developed. Throughout the book, the characters go through moments of perseverance, highs, lows, and intense situations, which makes it all the more entertaining.
This book shows the importance of never giving up, being hopeful, and valuing family and friends. Even though they go through hard moments, they come together stronger and better.
If you’re looking for a book to leave you entertained, I 100% recommend you read this book. I give this book a rating of five out of five stars. Even though this book was written in 1962, it can still apply to everyone’s life because of the themes throughout the book. I look forward to reading the four sequels.
