Cashmere High School students have been given the amazing opportunity to support our very own football team as they compete for the 1A state title against Royal City. This team has won eight out of the last nine state championships for 1A schools. While Royal City has been a tough competitor for The Bulldogs over the years, consistently blowing Cashmere out in seasons that they had otherwise been dominating in, this year offers an exciting opportunity. During the first match, CHS held against Royal, the Bulldogs lost 21-15 in overtime, giving Cashmere fans hope and building anticipation for the championship.
Jacoby Tait, a sophomore member of the football team, shared, “ I’m feeling very good about the game on Friday. We are very prepared and know we have a really good shot.” Tait also said that once he gets on the field, he focuses on the game and is able to block out the audience.
The game will take place at the Husky Stadium in Seattle, a location that would have stopped many Cashmere students from attending if not for the generous help of the school in the form of a Rooter bus. This bus will, once seats are reserved, take students to the game for an overall price of $5 (tickets will be free with the purchase of the bus ride)! Students wishing to reserve their seats must turn in the completed parent permission slip that can be found on the table outside the counselor’s office. If you wish to tag along, make sure you hurry: the first 100 students will be given seats.

Alex Batanoiu, a sophomore who is looking forward to the bus ride, said, “I want to support the school in a pretty big moment,” also sharing that he is excited to watch Cashmere win. He expects a fun bus ride and a game that will keep him on the edge of his seat.
Students should bring warm clothes and prepare for rain, as Seattle is known for its wet and cold climate. There will also be opportunities to purchase food or other items, so students should consider bringing additional cash. The bus will depart from Cashmere High School at 10:30 AM on Friday, December 5th, the game being scheduled to start at 3 PM, and participants can expect to be back by 9:30 PM.
Regardless of whether students are taking the bus or not, Cashmere will be having a district-wide early release, meaning that the school day will be over at 11 AM. The high school will be having blocks three and four. An email that was sent out by CHS principal Craig MacKenzie stated, “To any families choosing to leave earlier for the game, understand that your student’s absence will be excused with a prearranged absence notice,” showing that students leaving school early to watch the game with their families will also be excused from school.
All in all, CHS is offering an amazing opportunity to support our school and football team, along with our Cheer team that will also be making the long drive. This bus offers a cheap and fun way to watch Cashmere Football soar as the Bulldogs face off against the Knights in the 1A state championship.
