On December 3rd at Cashmere High School, 3-star DE Prin Fox signed his commitment to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Prin had 15 Division 1 offers.
When asked why he chose UNLV, he said,” My top two were Boise and Boston. Boise, they made it in the championship last year, so [they have a good] coaching staff and all that, I thought it might have been the spot for me. Then I went to UNLV, and I just fell in love with it a little bit more. The coaching staff and the D-line coaches, I was just able to talk with them, and they showed me some things. I just really felt like that was the spot.”
Prin has chosen to graduate early to get a head start at UNLV. When asked how he feels about that, Prin said, ”I feel great and definitely ready for it. It’s a big step in the next chapter in life, so I am excited. I am looking forward to it.”
Most young adults are nervous about going off to college or pursuing the next chapter in life, but after Prin was asked about taking the next step, he said,” [I’m] not really nervous, but I’m going to miss my friends and stuff, but I definitely think I am prepared for this moment. Just playing college ball and having more freedom and just being with the players and learning and trying to play football out there.” For the future, Prin plans on staying at UNLV and majoring in business or sports marketing.
But when asked what his ultimate goal is, Prin said, “ Probably pursue football a little bit more, trying to get to the NFL, and get drafted, go to the combine and all that. That’s my big goal in life.”
Prin had an outstanding career as a bulldog, being a four-year starter at DE and OL. He will be missed as a player as a student, an athlete, and a friend. Prin ended his senior season with 11 tackles for loss and 4 sacks.
