Zootopia 2 came out on November 26th, the day before Thanksgiving. After 8 years, the cast from the original film finally returns to the big screens. Zootopia 2 delivers a mix of humor, action, and heart, showing a realistic friendship and how it isn’t always easy.
The movie reunites the two main characters, now partners fighting crime, who may not always agree on the same thing, but always find a way to save the city.
While the first movie centered on prejudice and bias, Zootopia 2 focuses more on community, misinformation, and what it means to use your voice responsibly, and these themes are very relevant to teens today. It also shows the issue of stereotyping and the effects it can have on others.
The animation was really good, but not as unique as the original. So you would think there would be better quality and green screen, as the animation was just as good as the first film. Another flaw is that the music is really tame and isn’t as exciting as the first movie.
The jokes include both younger and older audiences, which is quite smart for there being a 8-year age gap since the first movie came out.
New characters get limited screen time, which makes certain scenes feel slightly rushed or underdeveloped, but they definitely had a better variety of citizens.
Zootopia 2 is a good movie and quite entertaining, but it didn’t hit emotionally as the first one did, though I still think it was worth waiting to see. Maybe not 8 years. I would definitely recommend this movie to people who like drama, suspense, and heartfelt films.
